Following recent meetings between the Parish Council and representatives from HS2/EKFB, we can provide an update regarding the ongoing closure of Radstone Road. While official communications from EKFB initially suggested a mid-February reopening, HS2 representatives confirmed in a meeting on 16 January that the road is now unlikely to reopen until March 2026 at the earliest. The closure extension is due to two primary technical failures identified during a Road Safety Audit in late December: 1) Safety Barrier (VRS) Failure: The Vehicle Restraint System (the barriers designed to prevent vehicles from leaving the bridge) failed safety inspections and requires remedial work. 2) Tie-in Issues: There are significant “alignment” problems where the new bridge deck meets the existing road at the Brackley side.  We will provide a further update as soon as more information is received or a firm reopening date is confirmed.
